Minnesota has 49 species of native Orchids – many are quite abundant such as our state flower “Showy Lady’s-slippers” but many are considered rare and endangered. In this session John Pennoyer will be discussing many facts about our native orchids and also how to use your camera to capture images of these beautiful orchids. This program will be presented at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28,
at the Lake Maria Trail Center.
The program is free, but there is a $7 daily vehicle permit fee for those without an annual permit. Lake Maria State Park is located approximately seven miles northwest of Monticello, five miles north of Maple Lake and 10 miles northeast of Annandale on Wright County Highway 111. For more information about directions and activities, call the park at (763) 878-2325.
