Paul Schmidt of Rice Lake died Monday, Nov. 29, 2021. He was 86. 
There will be no funeral service at this time. The family plans to have a picnic at a later time to celebrate Paul’s life.
Paul Henry Schmidt was born Jan. 6, 1935, to John and Mary (Pfinsten) Schmidt. He graduated high school in 1952. He married his loving wife Shirley Worden on May 5, 1956. Together they had four children: Jerry, Jodie, Penny and Jack. Paul worked for Model Stone Ready Mix Company for 41 years; he retired in 1996 by Rice Lake. Paul loved to travel in his motor home, and to see new places. He loved to work on his farm, and to go snowmobiling and hunting. He loved to visit with friends and family, going out to eat, or playing cards and marbles.
Paul was preceded by his parents, brothers Verlyn (and Lou) Schmidt and James (and Vera) Schmidt, and sister Bonnie (and Art) Gunstrom.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; children Jerry (and Jeanne) Schmidt, Jodie Marshall, Penny (and Jim) Harris, and Jack Schmidt; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
