Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident with injuries at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, on County Road 14, approximately 1 mile west of Spring Hill in Spring Hill Township. Also dispatched were the Elrosa Rescue Squad and Paynesville Ambulance Service. A 1987 Chevrolet pick up, owned by the Stearns County Highway Department and being driven by Alan Ruegemer, 51 of Cold Spring, was traveling eastbound on County Road #14 following a John Deere tractor pulling a wagon. The John Deere tractor was being driven by Paul Heinen, 15 of Melrose. As Ruegemer attempted to pass the tractor-trailer, the two vehicles collided when Heinen attempted to make a left turn into a driveway directly into the path of the pick up.
