Thirty-two of the 58 Powder Ridge Racers placed in the top five, bringing team points to the second place position at Afton Alps on Saturday, Jan. 4. Skiers Aaron Longtin (8), Maggie Kippley (9), Jake Powell (9), Eric Elmquist (12), Megan Bacharach (14) and Kim Bacharach (15) took first. Second-place finishes were turned in by David Elmquist (9), Cody Ling and Seth Elmquist (11) who tied, Laura Schleichert (12), Joe Powell (13) and Luke Becker (16+). Third place was awarded to Molly Magnuson (<7), Michael Hilbert (<7), Molly Gaetz (12), Kelsey Schleichert (13), Chris Longtin (13), Brett Herges (14), Adam Herges (15) and Nick Byram (16+). Fourth-place finishers included Whitney Hughs (<7), Matthew Haws (<7), Ben Ferkinhoff (12), Tammy Kippley (13), Matthew Wiest (14), Laura Shultz (15) and Jason Larson (16+). Rounding out team scoring in fifth place were Mady Stenson (<7), Ben Minkel (<7), Joshua Kunkel (15) and Ryan Rice (16+). Nick Held (<7), Rachel Post (10), Leah Magnuson (11), Alex Fuller (12) and Dan Grobner (14) finished sixth. Skiers grabbing the seventh-place spots were Joe Benson (<7), Jake Byram (12), Margo Game (13), Joe Muggli (13), Patrick Gaetz (14), Darin Goebel (15) and Katie Muggli (16+). Eighth-place spots were taken by Parker Fuchs (<7), Warren Olinger (9), Riley Rice (12), Matt Spanier (15) and Amy Elmquist (16+). Ninth place was awarded to Richie Steiger (10) and Runyon Gaetz (12) In tenth place were Jake Held (8), Jennifer Lukach (10) and Joey Steiger (14). Finishers who improved their time from first to second runs included Grant Nehring (8), Anne Magnuson (9), Cole Minkel (9), Charlie Crea (10), Keith Berg (11), James Halonen (11), Aaron Anderson (11), Kameron Kantor (11), Travis Lukach (12), Eric Magnuson (13) and Matthew Crea (13). The team's next race is at Buck Hill on Saturday, Jan. 18.
