The Regional Spelling Bees for Central MN will be Wednesday, Feb. 8 (snow day set for Thursday, Feb. 9) at Resource Training & Solutions offices in Sartell.
There will be two similar Spelling Bees, morning at 9 a.m. and afternoon at 1 p.m. The reason for the two Bees is the large number of students participating. The top two spellers from each Bee will advance to the Multi-Regional State Spelling Bee Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Lakes Country Service Cooperative in Fergus Falls (snow day is set for Thursday, Feb. 23).
The first- and second-place winners from each Regional Bee will receive a trophy and Barnes & Noble gift certificate. All four winners will advance to the Multi-Region State Spelling Bee. One winner from the Multi-State Regional Bee will go to the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., May 28-June 3.
The students participating in the Spelling Bee are Emma Eken from Eden Valley-Watkins, and Ashley Beehler from Kimball. Both will compete in the _____ round Wednesday.
