Research your Civil War ancestors
Many American families were impacted in some way by the Civil War, which took place between 1861 and 1865. Do you know if any of your ancestors were among the 2.6 million soldiers who served in the Union Army? A presentation sponsored by the St. Cloud Area Genealogists (SCAG) may help you find out.
Scott Norrick will present “Researching Your Union Civil War Ancestors” for SCAG at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 15. He will share primary resources, research strategies, and tips for bringing your ancestor’s story to life.
Norrick has more than 30 years of experience researching his family history and, through his company Ancestral Past, now assists others with their family history research. His areas of expertise include research in the American Midwest along with the immigration to America from Britain, Ireland, and Germanic countries.
This online event will be presented live for viewing remotely or watching with others at the Stearns History Museum, 235 33rd Ave. S., St. Cloud.
The program is free to SCAG members, or $7 for non-members; non-members can pay at the door. The individual annual membership rate for SCAG is $25.
