Richard “Dick” McCann of Manannah died Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis. He was 75.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Church of Our Lady in Manannah with Rev. Joseph Steinbeisser officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, and one hour prior to services Wednesday, at the church in Manannah.

Dick was born March 11, 1939, in Manannah to Michael and Loretta (McIntee) McCann. He married Evelin Boyer Sept. 29, 1959, at Church of Our Lady in Manannah; she preceded him in death in 1998. He lived and farmed in the Manannah area for most of his life. He retired from Frigidaire in St. Cloud after working there 14 years. He moved into Eden Valley in 2010. He is a member of Church of Our Lady in Manannah.

Dick enjoyed farming, and he loved his John Deere tractors. He was a man of few words who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at the Valley Inn in Eden Valley; they were able to meet and socialize there. He enjoyed being with his family and teasing his grandchildren. Dick always had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed polka music and dancing, playing cards and dice. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and just being at the farm.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelin, son Joseph, grandson Nick, brothers Frank and Eugene, and sister Lorraine Binsfeld.

He is survived by his children Deb (and Allan) Lang of Eden Valley, John (and Jackie) McCann of Grove City, Julann (and Barry) Albright of Paynesville, Barb (and Rick) Laidlaw of Grove City, Richard McCann (and Stacy Eggergluess) of Eden Valley; daughter-in-law Jolene McCann of North Carolina; sisters Betty (and Leo) Asfeld of Sauk Centre, and Rosie Weldon of Osakis; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
