Richard Walters of Casa Grande, Ariz., died Jan. 3, 2017, in Mesa, Ariz. He was 73.

A memorial Mass will be scheduled in June of 2017, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Watkins.

Richard M. Walters was born March 27, 1944, in Litchfield to Norbert and Lucetta (Neu) Walters, and was raised in Watkins. Richard was retired from IBM and DecisionOne. He had lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, Pierre, S.D., Highland, N.Y., Renner, S.D., and Plattsmouth, Neb., prior to retiring in Arizona. He was an avid family man and sportsman.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister Debbie Manuel.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Judith (Piontek) Walters; daughter Andrea Walters of Gilbert, Ariz., son Aaron Walters; daughter-in-law Abigail (Cooper), and grand-daughters of Needham, Mass.; three sisters Maxine Billey and Mary Walters of Watkins, Doreen Walters (and Jerome  Eridau) of St. Louis Park, Minn.; and three brothers John Walters of Kimball, Kenneth (and Glennis) Walters of Easley, S.C., Donald Walters of Watkins; and many nieces and nephews.
