River Lakes boys split the week

River Lakes moved their overall record to 8-7-2 following its latest activity. The boys upended Prairie Centre, 5-2, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at Sauk Centre Ice Arena. After a first-frame 1-1 tie, River Lakes tallied four goals in the penultimate period, and that was more than enough to claim the win.

On Thursday, the RL boys faced Northern Lakes at the Breezy Point Hockey Arena. It was all tied at 4 apiece after two periods but, in the final stanza, the Lightning lit the lamp one more time than did the Stars, rendering Northern Lakes the 7-6 victors.
