About two weeks ago, strange marks appeared on roadways in and near Kimball. They look to be a black square painted onto the road, with a white + painted over that, and letters and numbers in surveyor pink to the side. I?Äôve spotted at least six of them, and there could be hundreds.
Sighting a MnDOT surveyor last week, I stopped and asked him what they were.
These are coordinates for aerial photographs that will be taken between Kimball and Dassel. It?Äôs part of prelminary work for road work that is tentatively planned for 2022. (As we know from recent history, a lot can happen in the five years between now and then.)
