Motorists should prepare for delays on I-94 in Wright County as the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) begins a micro-surfacing pavement preservation project Wednesday, Aug. 4. Drivers should be alert for restrictions on Hwy. 24 in Wright County and on I-94 between St. Joseph and St. Augusta in Stearns County. The micro-surfacing treatment involves putting a thin layer of asphalt over the pavement to fill in small imperfections in the road. It is designed to preserve pavement life to save on future repair costs. Weather permitting, areas scheduled for roadwork are: o I-94 between the Crow River and Monticello. Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Aug. 4, and should take about six days to complete. Night work will be done from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. to minimize impact on drivers. o Hwy. 24 in Clearwater. Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Aug. 11, and should take one day to complete. Night work will be from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. o I-94 between St. Augusta and St. Joseph. Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Aug. 17, and should take about six days to complete. No night work will be completed. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction in work areas during the project. Drivers are reminded to slow down and be alert for workers and equipment.
