Rosie Roeser of Watkins died Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. She was 83.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins with Rev. John Brunner and Rev. Richard Gross officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and 8-10 a.m. Thursday at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. A rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by parish prayers at 6 p.m. Interment will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Watkins.

Rosie Roeser was born June 16, 1926, to John and Magdelena (Jones) Weisen in Watkins. She was married to Charles Meyer who was killed in combat in France during World War II. She married Aubrey Roeser Sept. 24, 1948, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins.

Rosie worked at Fingerhut, Klein Hotel, Animal Fair, and Mueller Mink Farm. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins and was active with the Council of Catholic Women. Her hobbies included sewing and crocheting, baking, and golfing. She enjoyed babysitting the neighbor kids and helping her daughter Norene with her day care business. Rosie especially enjoyed visiting and having coffee with her lady friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Charles Meyer; son John Roeser; brothers and sisters Margaret Hendricks, Viola Becker, Louis Weisen, Norman Weisen, Isy Wule, Irene Stelton, and Buddy Weisen.

Rosie is survived by her husband Aubrey Roeser of Watkins; children Diana (and Joe) Quast of Crosby, Norene (and Jack) Schlangen of Watkins, Catherine (and Larry) Womeldorf of St. Cloud, Charlie Roeser of Virginia; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Music will be provided by Mary Streit and the church choir. Casket bearers will be grandchildren Joanie Schmidt, Steve Quast, Jeff Schlangen, Amy Raiber, Michelle Cook, Vicki Womeldorf, and Sherri Nicholson.
