The gates will swing open on the 2004 Hamel Rodeo and Bull Ridin’ Bonanza beginning at 7:30 p.m.Thursday, July 8. The Hamel Rodeo attracts 400 cowboys and cowgirls from across the United States and Canada and offers more prize money than any other rodeo in Minnesota. Shows take place nightly at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, July 8 through Sunday, July 11. Advanced tickets cost $10 for adults and $6 for children. They can be purchased through July 7, at the Farmers State Bank of Hamel, Pleasant Hills Saddle Shops, or by calling Ticketmaster at (651) 989-5151, or online at . Tickets at the door cost $12 for adults and $7 for children ages 4-12. Reserve tickets are $14 for adults and $8 for children. Saturday, July 10 is Family Day with kids events including a calf scramble and stick horse races all beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets for Family Day cost $6. The Hamel Rodeo is located three miles north of Hwy. 55 on County Road 10 and Highway 101. Free camping and parking are available at the rodeo grounds.
