The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and its partner police agencies from Kimball, Albany, Avon, Cold Spring, Melrose, Paynesville, St. Joseph, Sauk Centre and Waite Park will be participating in a Safe & Sober enforcement campaign. This campaign will take place from Aug. 17-Sept. 3 and will be concentrated on locating and arresting impaired drivers. All of these agencies will have extra officers working overtime shifts during the hours when the incidents of impaired driving are the greatest. The officers would like to remind motorists that it is best and safest to find an alternate means of transportation after consuming alcoholic beverages. This Safe & Sober campaign is funded by the MN Dept. of Public Safety, sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
