The smoke and haze from the Canadian wildfires dominated our weather late last week and continued into the weekend. An Air Quality Alert was in effect for the weekend and lingered into Tuesday as the smoke spilled into the state of Minnesota.
At times we had visibility down to 1.3 miles late last week. This was a dangerous situation at times for the elderly and those will lung issues.
The smoke cleared out as the flow from Canada changed on Tuesday. This change cut off the flow of smoke and also changed our weather pattern bringing some rain chances back into the weather picture for the midweek.
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible late Wednesday and will continue for Thursday. Another system will bring rain chances for Friday and Saturday. Some thunderstorms will also be possible with these disturbances. Dew points will also climb as a southerly flow will bring the heat and humidity back to the state.
Some 90s will even be possible along the way by Friday and again on Sunday.
