Sonny Schiefelbein, 15, of Kimball recently returned from the 7th annual Red River Valley International Classic Figure Skating Competition with a pair of trophies for her performances. Schiefelbein earned first place in the Open Pre-Juvenile Artistic category and fourth place in the Open Pre-Juvenile Free Skate program. The Red River Classic was held in February in Moorhead and was hosted by the Fargo/Moorhead communities. The event, sanctioned by the United States Figure Skating Association, attracted skaters from 25 clubs representing North and South Dakota, Minnesota and Canada. Sonny, a ninth-grader at Kimball High School, is a member of the St. Cloud Figure Skating Club.
