The Kimball school board met Tuesday, Aug. 10. They moved unanimously to appoint Tim Peglow to fill the seat vacated by Matt Serbus who moved to Kingston and out of the Kimball district several weeks ago. Only two people submitted their names to be considered for the school board seat and both individuals were interviewed by the board a week earlier. Tuesday night the board stated that they would be happy with either candidate on the board. Creig Andreasen, a lawyer and relative newcomer to the community, was the other person being considered. In other business, the board: o Approved minutes of the July 15 board meeting. o Accepted a donation of $600 from Keek Developers. o Approved fall coaching assignments: Jamie Leither (10th-grade football), Bill Hesse (7th-grade football), Amy Notch (Head Volleyball), Janelle Vogel (Assistant Volleyball), and Leah Arnold (C-Squad Volleyball). o Approved a .8 contract with Ann Mills, science instructor. o Approved minutes of Aug. 4 special board meeting. o Approved contract with Jessica Shurts, ECFE instructor. o Approved Aid Anticipation Certificates, needed to maintain cash flow for the district. o Approved the Elementary student/parent handbook, Elementary staff handbook and High School staff handbook for 2004-05. The next school board meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19. All meetings take place in the district board room, and are open to the public. Visitors are always welcome.
