School Board Candidate: Tim Peglow

·

Working in the road construction business for the past 13 years, Tim Peglow said the key to the business is following guidelines. “The goals is to get the job done on time and within the budget.” Peglow currently works as a foreman for Kuechle Underground. He has three children, two of which are enrolled in the district. His youngest is in preschool. He is running for a position on the board as he wants to contribute to the success of the board. “The current board is doing the best job they can. They have a lot of laws and rules they have to follow. Change takes time and a lot of effort. I would like to help continue that change.” One goal he wants to work towards is better communication. “My goal is communication between parents, staff and community.” This goal goes along with a change Peglow would like to see within the district. “I would like parents to be informed if their child is failing, or having problems learning … before they get suspended or kicked out of extra curricular activities.” Peglow formerly served on the Superintendent search committee and ran for school board two years ago. Outside of the school, Peglow serves as a trustee at his church. He said Kimball was his home. “What I like best about this community is that this is home. I grew up here, went to school hear and now raise my family here. I like the district because my children know all of the kids in their classes. It is a small-town district that supports its kids.” Peglow noted that one of the issues he wants to work toward is the budget. “The state is cutting money and we are going to have to do what is needed to keep operating in the black.” He said a successful board member is vocal. “A successful board member would be someone that says something when they need to. They also listen to the parents and the community to work together.”
