Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 6:55 a.m., deputies from the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the MN State Patrol responded to a crash involving a milk truck and a school bus at 26433 223 Ave in Farming Township. There were seven children on the bus and the driver. Noone was hurt in either vehicle. The school bus is owned and operated by Richmond Bus Service. It was driven by Sally Jaeger and stopped in front of the address to pick up a student. Driving north and going to the same address was Darren Swart in his truck loaded with 19,400 gallons of milk. Swart tried to slow and stop on the icy roadway, but slid into the school bus pushing it backwards about 10 feet.
All students’ families were notified and were taken to school on a different bus. The accident is still under investigation.
