The Kimball Girl Scout Junior Troop 387 hosted Camp Friendship’s weekly social Monday, Aug. 16. The girls chose this social event as they worked on their Bronze Award. It was a great way to do something for the community. The Girl Scouts who volunteered were Tara Matthiesen, Ehrin Elliott, Megan Jones, Lauren Edwards and Katie Oster. The girls collected and donated more than 200 stuffed animals to the camp. Each camper was able to pick out a stuffed animal and enjoy a popsicle. It was fun watching the faces of the campers and the staff as they looked through the stuffed animals to find the right one. It was somewhat emotional for the Girl Scouts to see some of their favorite stuffed animals go, but they knew that the campers would really appreciate them.
