Jonny Serbus of Kimball Boy Scout Troop 357 completed his Eagle Scout project, a flagpole for the new Kimball Library.
Jonny completed his project this past November. He had to meet with three different groups for approval of the project: the Friends of the Library, City of Kimball maintenance workers, and a Boy Scouts of America representative. After the plan was approved by all three groups, Jonny started fundraising for the landscaping. He also met with the Kingston Lions Club, who donated the flagpole toward his cause.
The next step for Jonny and his brother William (who did the Kimball Fire Department sign as his Eagle Scout project) will be an Eagle Board of Review with the Boy Scouts of America Council Board Wednesday, March 30. This meeting will determine if the Serbus brothers meet the qualifications to become Eagle Scouts.
