Service of prayer, healing and hope

·

Ostmark Lutheran Church-ELCA of rural Watkins will host a Service of Prayer for Healing and Hope at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18. Everyone is invited to attend. The mid-week service is offered for anyone in need of physical, emotional or spiritual healing for themselves or others, according to Rev. Melinda Melhus. “Those dealing with loss, transition or needing reconciliation may also find comfort,” she added. “Some may seek a message of hope, while others may simply desire some quiet time alone with God in the midst of hectic and busy lives.” Hymns, scripture and meditation are included in the service. There will also be an opportunity for personal prayer with annointing and the laying on of hands. Votive candles will be available for those who wish to light one in honor or in memory of loved ones. The sanctuary will be open by 6:30 p.m. and will remain open after the service for prayer or meditation. Coffee and fellowship will follow in the church’s Fellowship Hall. Ostmark Lutheran Church is located off Hwy. 24 between Watkins and Forest City. For directions or a map, call the church at (320) 693-8450.
