The seventh-grade softball team played its final game of the season at home Tuesday, May 20. The team played well against Howard Lake and earned their second win of the season, 8-7. The game saw short bursts of scoring in the early innings. “We made a lot of progress this season,” said Coach Strand. “We worked hard in practice and it really started to show toward the end of the season. I am really proud of the girls. They showed a lot of team spirit and were willing to work on areas that needed improving.” The team finished with a 2-6 record, with both wins against Howard Lake. “We had a couple of close games that could have gone either way throughout the season, but every game was really a learning experience for us. Hopefully, the individuals of this team will continue to work on their games and continue to improve their skills. They worked hard at playing the game and also worked at trying to understand the game of softball,” said Strand. “It was a very fun season for me as a coach and I would like to thank the girls for their dedication and also the parents for their support at our games.”
