Wright County Sheriff Gary Miller has announced that applications for the county’s Sheriff’s Reserve Officers are currently being accepted. The volunteer organization consists of residents from Wright County 21 and older who provide assistance to Sheriff’s deputies at community events like parades and the county fair. Reservists will participate in water patrol, snowmobile safety patrol, crime scene protection, evidence searches, search and rescue and other assignments as needed. They will also undergo necessary training provided by the Sheriff’s office in proper radio use, first aid, self-defense and firearms safety. There are six open positions for the Sheriff’s Reserve Officers, and Sheriff Miller encourages Wright County residents 21 and older to apply. Applications will be accepted through Sept. 24.
