Members of the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Unit 261 attended the 6th District American Legion Auxiliary 2023 Mid-Winter Conference on Saturday, Feb. 11. The conference was held at the Ironton American Legion Post 443 in Ironton, Minn.
Sixth District President Bev Grosse presided over the conference. Opening ceremony was held. Introduction of District Officers and recognition of past District Presidents and Department Post Presidents from the 6th District took place.
We were introduced to the unit presidents of the 6th District who hold department (State) appointments and also those who hold national appointments. We were introduced to the candidates who are running for department (State) office for 2023-2024. They are Sharon Thiemecke – President, First Vice President – Judy Ackerman, Second Vice President –
Robin Dorf.
Next on the agenda was the chairman reports. Members from Unit 261 Kimball who gave reports were LuAnn Marschel – Leadership Chairman, Abby Zenzen – Auxiliary Emergency Chairman, Dori Hamilton –
Children and Youth Chairman, Barbara Hopewell – Americanism Chairman, Carol Santone-Royal – Poppy Chairman, Renee Berscheid – Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Chairman, Teresa Stuart – Community Service Chairman was unable to be there.
Information was given on the upcoming 2023 Bowling Tournament which will be held Saturday, Feb. 18, in Hackensack.
The nominating committee report was given. Our guest speaker Edna Thayer talked to us about filling out the annual reports. She had several tips for us.
Our meeting was adjourned according to ritual, and we then had lunch.
After lunch, we had a joint session with the American Legion and the Sons of the American Legion and the Legion Riders. This concluded the conference.
