Slavic Festival April 28

·

Come to the First Slavic Festival Saturday, April 28, at Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Church, 601 Seventh Ave. S. St. Cloud.

At 3 p.m. St. Mary’s Orthodox Cathedral’s Balalaika Orchestra will give a concert at the beautiful Queen Anne home of our neighbor Rich Kelly at 524 7th Ave. S. The is a $10 admission at the door. The soft stringed sound of the balalaika and the dormas is better suited for the parlour than the large auditorium.

At 4 p.m. the doors will open for a Cultural Fair in the church with activities for all ages, free of charge. Visit booths to learn about Slavic arts and culture, including Slovenian Group, Rusin Association, Ukrainian Easter Eggs, Serbian/Macedonian SCSU students, etc. We will give church tours and hold a bake sale.

At 5 p.m. we will serve a homemade Slavic dinner in the dining room. Menu includes stuffed cabbage rolls, fresh salads, vegetables, rye bread, and beverages, at $10 per plate. Kielbasa will be served la carte for $3. All meat has been organically raised: beef for the cabbage rolls and pork for the specially-ground kielbasa.
