The Kimball softball team collided with a tough Maple Lake bunch Tuesday, April 11, as they suffered a 13-0 shutout. Needing just five innings to claim the victory, the Irish played a flawless game. Conversely, the Cubs had one of those days, committing four errors. Kimball highlights: Katie Merchant, 2 for 2; Mackenzie Leither, 1 for 3; Emily Utecht is charged with the loss. She pitched two innings, faced 17 batters, allowed 9 runs (3 earned), gave up 9 hits, and struck out one. Katie Merchant pitched three innings, faced 16 batters, allowed 4 runs, gave up 2 hits, struck out 5, and surrendered two walks.
