After a winter storm brought snow to the region last Thursday into Friday, we had a very nice weekend. There was lots of melting going on both Saturday and Sunday as high temperatures were in the 30s and even into the lower 40s on Sunday. With light winds and plenty of sunshine, it was a very nice weekend for early April. I saw people out going for a walk, and many snowmobilers enjoying the nice weather.
Clouds were back on the increase Monday as our next winter storm set up across the state. Snow moved in once again Monday night into Tuesday. This system had strong winds and heavy snow associated with it as it pushed across the Upper Midwest. Blizzard-like conditions were found across much of the region.
Lingering snow will be with us Wednesday as this strong late–season storm continues to slide across the area. Travel difficulties will continue to be with us through Wednesday night.
High pressure will slowly build overnight from Wednesday into Thursday. Temperatures will be cooler than average, but at least it will be dry enough for us to blow out our driveways.
Let’s hope this is the last “taste” of winter for the season.
