Stearns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a house fire at 16527 County Road 7, 7 miles south of St. Augusta in Fairhaven Township, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 3. The house, owned by Robert Jurgens, 51 of South Haven, was fully engulfed when the South Haven Fire Department arrived on the scene. The St. Augusta Fire Department also assisted with water trucks. A state fire marshal assisted with the investigation after the fire was extinguished and determined the cause was suspicious. The house had been vacant for the past three months, and was completely destroyed. The fire remains under investigation.
