Spring may be delayed with some measurable snow

·
Just when you thought it would be nice for the rest of March as Spring officially arrived Tuesday at 10:06 p.m., now comes the reality that winter hasn’t lost its grip on Minnesota.
We will see chances for snow on Thursday and again on Sunday. The track of this late-season storm is yet to be determined, but Minnesota could see some measurable snow. The best chances of snow right now look like they will fall on Thursday and again on Sunday. If you are doing some traveling, pay attention to the changing road conditions as a wintry mix will also be possible. For the latest on the roads, call 511.
By the way, from an astronomical standpoint, the first day of Spring and the Spring Equinox can occur on March 19, March 20, or March 21. In case you are curious, we won’t see a March 21 -Equinox again until the year 2101. This is due to time zone differences worldwide.
Drive carefully.
Weather history: On this date in 1991, records show that an “early season tornado” hit parts of Minnesota. The worst of the storm moved through Faribault County.
