The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office and the Central Minnesota Drug Task Force searched for narcotics at 22213 County Road 7, St. Augusta Wednesday, July 23. Investigators with the Drug Task Force found evidence that led to the arrest of Charles Forrest VanPelt, 37. VanPelt was charged with attempt to manufacture meth-amphetamine, cultivating marijuana, and the illegal possession of anhydrous ammonia, which are all felonies. VanPelt was held at the Stearns County jail pending charges through the Stearns County Attorney’s Office. The St. Cloud Volunteer Fire Department, St. Cloud Fire Department HAZMAT Team, and the Sartell Police Department Investigator and Canine Unit also helped in the investigation.
