St. Cloud Area Home Economics Association scholarship

The St. Cloud Area Home Economics Association will grant a $500 scholarship this year, according to Gloria Melby, Chairperson of the Scholarship committee.

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be enrolled in a college or university in the study of home economics (Family Consumer Science) or a related degree program; will be a junior, senior, or graduate student during the 2002-2003 school year; and their permanent residence be in Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Wright, Morrison or Mille Lacs County.

Applications may be obtain-ed from the home economics department at the student’s college, or by writing to Gloria Melby, 2808 Island View Ct., St. Cloud, MN 56301.

The St. Cloud Area Home Economics Association is a group of professional home economists from the St.Cloud area. The group is interested in helping students in pursuit of a home economics-related degree.

Their meetings allow the membership to further develop their professional growth, by keeping them up-to-date with recent innovations, legislation, and current changes in areas of home economics.

Application for the scholarship must be returned to Gloria Melby by June 30. The recipient will be notified by letter by Aug. 1, 2002.
