St. Cloud Social Security office relocates

The St. Cloud Social Security office will move from the downtown Federal Building to a new building located at the southeast corner of State Highway 15 and 8th Street North. The new address, effective Aug. 18, is 3800 8th Street N., Suite 100, St. Cloud, MN 56303. The office telephone numbers will remain the same. The new office will include larger reception and interviewing areas that will improve service to an increasing number of visitors and provide more privacy during personal interviews. Availability of parking will be greatly improved with a large free lot for visitors, including easily accessible handicapped parking near the entrance. To accommodate movement of the office phone system, phone service at the old location will be disconnected at noon Friday, Aug. 15. However, the office will remain open until 4 p.m. to assist walk-in visitors. The office will open at the new location at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, though service may be limited as final computer installation and testing is completed.  St. Cloud District Manager Steve Thayer recommends calling Social Security’s national toll-free number (800) 772-1213 to conduct business by phone or schedule appointments. Telephone representatives are available from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. On-line services are also available at Social Security’s Web site, www.socialsecurity.gov.
