The Fall St. Cloud StandDown will be held at the National Guard Armory in St. Cloud from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Many non-profit, government, and for-profit agencies will be on hand to provide information and services to veterans.
Special attention is being directed to the families of the National Guard and Reserve unit members who have been mobilized.
The Salvation Army will be operating the Welcome Wagon in front of the armory. A full meal will be served at noon. Once again, hair cuts will be available. Wellness checks and many community resources will be on hand to help individuals with their questions and concerns.
Veterans will have Department of Defense surplus clothing available. They will be given information regarding the registration for the clothing at the main registration desk. There will be a StandDown Court. Those interested should contact their local County Veterans Officer or the Stearns County Assistant Court Administrator (320) 656-2654, or Nick Johnson at the St. Cloud Veterans Administration (320) 255-6320. Applications for court services must be submitted not later than Oct. 14.
Veterans and/or family members are encouraged to attend the Fall StandDown. For further information, contact Lori Helget, (320) 656-6101.
