St. Cloud State graduation is May 5

More than 1,130 students are expected to participate in 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Commencement ceremonies Friday, May 5, at St. Cloud State?Äôs Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

They are among 1,574 students from 33 nations, 25 U.S. states and the District of Columbia earning degrees Spring semester.

The degree-earners include 1,216 undergraduate students, 
345 graduate students and 13 doctoral students.

Delivering the 10:30 a.m. student address is Angela Mundis, a summa cum laude graduate from St. Cloud. She has earned a bachelor?Äôs degree in geography, with an emphasis in geographic information systems.

Emma Konopasek is delivering the 3 p.m. student address. She is a summa cum laude graduate who has earned a bachelor?Äôs degree in Spanish. The De Pere, Wisconsin native played forward for women?Äôs Huskies Basketball.

Conferring degrees will be Ashish Vaidya, interim president. Among those presenting the graduating class is Dan Gregory, interim provost and vice president for academic affairs.

The University?Äôs Wind Ensemble will perform music, including Richard Strauss?Äô ?ÄúKonigsmarsch.?Äù

Parking will be free May 5 in campus parking lots and the 4th Avenue Parking Ramp.

Graduates, their guests, faculty and staff are encouraged to use the free St. Cloud Metro Bus shuttle. Street parking is available, as posted.
