State Representative
Doug StangState Representative Doug Stang (R-Cold Spring) has announced that he will seek a fourth term in the Minnesota House of Representatives serving the people of District 14B.
“As a life-long resident of this district, I know the area and the
people very well. It has been an honor to work for the needs and
priorities of the people of central Minnesota since I was first elected in 1996,” said Stang. “I am excited to continue my service to them as their representative at the State Capitol.”
Over the years, Rep. Stang has proven to be an effective leader who understands the opinions and values of the people he represents. “I have seen much success in working with other local units of government
on various legislative issues,” said Stang. “One of the most important accomplishments for our region has been the expansion of Highway 23, which will greatly improve transportation in this area, and will have economic benefits for our local industries as well.”
Rep. Stang has worked hard over the years to fight for equity in education funding between metro and rural schools, as well as providing permanent tax relief for local citizens. In addition, Rep. Stang has been a strong advocate for issues that positively impact rural Minne-sota. Rep. Stang has also prided himself on his constituent outreach by hosting numerous town meetings and providing weekly newspaper columns, legislative surveys, and end-of-session reports.
“Although we have seen much success for District 14B in recent years, there is much more to be done,” explained Stang. “With the growth in population and business in our area, we need experienced leadership to make sure that the voices of citizens in central Minnesota are heard.”
