Great River Regional Library (GRRL) will have 20 new telescopes available for checkout beginning Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.
Since 2017, GRRL has had an Orion StarBlast Reflector telescope stationed out of the Buffalo Library, thanks to the generosity of library supporter Mark Boyd of the Buffalo Rotary.
The telescope has been extraordinarily popular, prompting the Rotary to generously donate the funds needed to add more telescopes to the GRRL collection.
The telescope project is part of GRRL’s burgeoning “Try It Yourself” kit collection, offering patrons the chance to test potential new hobbies for free with their library cards.
Patrons are welcome to request a telescope now. Anyone with a GRRL card may check out a telescope.
