Visitors to the 2004 Minnesota State Fair will enjoy a variety of values and bargains every day of the fair, Aug. 26 – Sept. 6. Discount admission days The State Fair kicks off with savings for the whole family on Thrifty Thursday, Aug. 26. Admission for adults 13 and older is $7 and admission for kids ages 5-12 is $4. Kids Days are scheduled for Monday, Aug. 30 and Tuesday, Aug. 31. Admission is just $4 for kids ages 5-12. People age 65 and older are admitted for $4 on Seniors Days Monday, Aug. 30 and Thursday, Sept. 2. Regular admission is $9 for adults ages 13-64, $8 for seniors ages 65 and older, and $8 for kids ages 5-12. Children under 4 are admitted for free. Midway and game discounts Discounts and money-saving specials are offered weekdays until 1 p.m. for all Mighty Midway and Kidway rides, games and concessions. All-day specials are offered on Thrifty Thursday, Kids Days and Last Chance Day (Labor Day, Sept. 6). Mighty Midway Mania will offer specials and discounts from 8 p.m.-12 midnight Wednesday, Sept. 1. Blue Ribbon Bargain Book The books are available at the state fair gift shop for $4.50. Food and vendor values Fairborne’s Fabulous Fair Food Finder allows guests to search online at www.mnstatefair.org for deals and discounts offered by food concessionaires. At the fair, all deals and discounts are listed in the “Deals, Drawings and Giveaways” guide available at information booths. The guide includes special deals on food and merchandise, items for $1 or less, a list of vendors offering free food or merchandise and where to go to sign up for prize drawings. All deals and discounts are also listed online under “Big Buck Bargains.” Many concessionaires and vendors will participate in special deals for Thrifty Thursday, Seniors and Kids Days. Vendors will display a special deal sign and will be listed in the Deals, Drawings and Giveaways guide. Many vendors will also offer closeout prices on Last Chance Day.
