The Share-the-Fun Festival was held Sunday, April 29, at the Melrose High School. Five clubs participated in three different categories this year: 4-H Club Skits, One-Act Play, and Talent Acts. Sixty-five 4-Hers participated at the event showing off their talents. The Champion Skit was “Are You Smarter Than a 4-Her?” performed by the Breezy Pines 4-H Club. The show was based on the popular TV Gameshow “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? The Champion One-Act play entitled “Phantom of 4-H” was performed by the members of the Gopher Prairie 4-H Club. Champion Talent Act was awarded to Emily and Nick Lahr from the Gopher Prairie 4-H Club for their piano duet “Happy Birthday”. As the Champion skit, Breezy Pines was selected to represent Stearns County at the Minnesota State Fair in August. Other Awards Presented: Reserve champion 4-H skit, “The Power of the Clover,” Adley Creek; reserve champion talent act, “Accidentally in Love,” dance by Gopher Prairie’s Anna Hentges, Emily and Rachel Frericks; best 4-H theme, “Phantom of 4-H,” Gopher Prairie; most humorous act, Humpty Dumpty’s Funeral” poem, Gopher Prairie’s Christy Achen; most originaland creative, “The Power of the Clover,” Adley Creek ; best costumes, “Next Top 4-H Project,” Pelican Peak; best music appeal, “Happy Birthday” piano duet by Gopher Prairie’s Emily and Nick Lahr; most effort and enthusiasm, “It’s A Hard Knock Life,” Tel-Stars; and most audience appeal, “Are You Smarter Than a 4-Her?”, Breezy Pines.
