STEARNS COUNTY IS SEEKING NAMES OF RESIDENTS WHO LIVE IN THE THIRD COMMISSIONER DISTRICT AND WHO ARE INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE STEARNS COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION

The Planning Commission is an eleven-member body responsible for reviewing and recommending ordinance changes and for conducting public hearings on plats, re-zoning requests, conditional use permit applications and interim use permit applications. There are two positions available for this District. The terms of the positions are for one year, beginning upon appointment in 2003. Applicants must be a resident of Stearns County and live within the boundaries of one of the following Townships: Avon, Brockway, Precinct 1 of Collegeville, Eden Lake, Holding, Luxemburg, Maine Prairie, Munson and Wakefield; or the cities of Avon, Cold Spring, Eden Valley, Holdingford, Kimball, Richmond, Rockville and St. Stephen. Applicants shall not have received, during the two years prior to application, any substantial portion of their income from business operations involving the development of land within the County for urban and urban-related purposes. Applications are available from the Environmental Services Department and are due in the Environmental Services Department no later than Feb. 21, 2003. Interviews will be conducted on Feb. 26, 2003, with appointment anticipated on March 4, 2003.
