Citizens will have a rare opportunity to take a tour of the -Stearns County jail and Law Enforcement Center (LEC) during an open house event from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office will take the public on a walk-through of the LEC, which will include portions of the jail, shooting range, 9-1-1 Dispatch Center, interview rooms, workout area, and the garage containing Sheriff vehicles. Tours will run throughout the morning.
In addition to the opportunity to tour behind closed doors and catch a glimpse at the inner workings of the Sheriff’s Office, the public can see inside squad cars, a police dog in action, the drone used by deputies, SWAT vehicles and equipment, and gadgets deputies carry with them – tasers, defibrillators, car cameras, and squad laptops.
Kids will also have a chance to pick up some free items. Plus, cookies and refreshments will be served.
