Business hours for the License Center West drive-thru at the Stearns County Service Center located in Waite Park will change to 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. starting Monday, March 3. The drive-thru will no longer be open until 5 p.m.
Services offered at the drive-thru at License Center West include motor vehicle and DNR renewals, and disability certificates. Both Stearns County License Centers offer the following walk-in services: motor vehicle and DNR transfers and renewals; driver’s license and state IDs; disability parking certificates; marriage license and certificates; birth and death certificates; notary and ordination filings.
Additionally, services may be conducted online through the County’s Virtual License Center at StearnsCountyMN.gov including motor vehicle and DNR renewals; marriage, birth and death certificates; notary and ordination filings.
Randy Schreifels, the County Auditor-Treasurer, would like to remind Stearns County residents that the federal REAL ID deadline will be enforced on May 7, 2025. A passport, passport card, REAL ID, or enhanced ID will be required to board a plane, enter a secure federal building, or visit a military base. Doing a pre-application at Drive.MN.gov for REAL ID can save time and help avoid multiple trips by identifying the right documents to comply with the requirements. For passports, make an appointment on the Stearns County website at stearnscountymn.gov/631.
