Steven “Papa Steve” Reid of Richmond died Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was 59.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, May 1, at South Haven City Hall, with visitation from 3-8 p.m.
Steven W. Reid was born Dec. 3, 1963, to Ralph and Deloras Reid in Pompano Beach, Fla. Shortly after, the family returned to Minnesota where he lived the rest of his life. Steven served in the U.S. Army from 1983 to 1986, and he loved everything Germany offered. After his military service, Steve worked in concrete and construction until he graduated from Ridgewater College as an insurance claim representative. Absolute Adjusting was his place of employment for the past four years. Steven was a jack-of-all-trades, and a master of few. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, westerns, football, and playing euchre with his family and friends. Steven loved building things, and he was always with a project.
Steven was preceded in death by his father Ralph.
He is survived by Julie Reid, the love of his life; children Angela Reid, Eric, Abbie and Jolene Eggersgluss, and Nicole (and Christopher) Wells; four grandchildren Bennet Reid, Eliza Hart, and Penny and Lucy Wells; his mother Deloras; siblings LaRae (and Chuck) Weber, Terri (and William) Erickson, Rick (and Carol) Reid, Curt Reid, and Jeffrey (and Kim) Reid; and many loving nieces and nephews.
