The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is asking drivers to please lock their vehicles and reminds them not to leave valuables or keys in the vehicle. This warning comes after two stolen vehicle incidents at the Holiday Station next to Cash Wise Foods, 157 Waite Ave. S, Waite Park. On Friday, July 13, a female called reporting that she left her vehicle running and ran into the store to purchase some items. When she came out of the store, her vehicle was gone. The vehicle was later recovered in Minneapolis. On Thursday, July 19, at about 4 p.m., the Waite Park Police Department received another call of a stolen vehicle from the Holiday Station. The female owner of the vehicle pumped gas and went inside to pay for it. She left the keys in the vehicle and when she returned, her vehicle was gone. She reported that there was a wedding dress, two bridesmaids dresses and a saddle inside the vehicle. The vehicle is a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, gold in coloring and bearing Minnesota license plate number: UNG 547. The vehicle was last seen in Monticello, where it was used in a theft at Kmart. This was approximately one hour after it was taken from Waite Park. The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is also asking persons to report any suspicious activity by anyone hanging around their vehicle or a vehicle belonging to someone else.
