At about 11:29 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, Wright County Dispatch was alerted to a vehicle fire at a local business (Clearwater Auto Parts) at 16929 County Rd. 7 N.W. in Clearwater Township.
According to witnesses and first responders on scene, including Wright County Deputies and firefighters from several surrounding departments, the fire had fully engulfed a building on the property as well as grass in the area. The public was asked to stay clear of the area to allow emergency personnel to do their jobs and extinguish the fire.
As of about 3 p.m., emergency personnel had cleared the area. The fire caused considerable property damage including damage to a structure located on the property.
At this time it is believed that the fire was started accidentally by employees working on a vehicle in the garage. There were no injuries reported.
