At about 9:20 p.m. -Saturday, Feb. 8, the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a structure fire in the 67000 block of 330th Street in Forest City Township. Meeker County -Deputies, Litchfield Fire Department, Watkins Fire Department, and Watkins Ambulance responded to the scene.
Deputies found a two-story house that was almost fully engulfed. The property is owned by Karen Marsh, 79, and was unoccupied at the time of the fire. It was determined that a family member of the property owner had been there earlier, burning items in a pit that was close to the house; this is believed to have ignited the house.
No one was injured as a result of the fire.
