Students learn heart health the HiTech way

·

Kimball elementary fifth-graders learned about the human heart Wednesday, Feb. 11, with the HiTech Heart, a functioning, light-up model with fluid that moves through valves, blue and red chanbers and vessels. Penny Mathieu, R.N., with the Minneapolis Heart Instutute Foundation taught them how the heart works and how they can keep their hearts healthy through diet, exercise and staying smoke-free. Each student got to manually pump the heart. (See photo gallery for more pictures.)
