Summer 2025 Agricultural and Natural Resources Internships

The University of Minnesota Extension is now accepting applications for its summer 2025 Agricultural and Natural Resources Internship Program. This paid internship offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside Extension educators across Minnesota. Interns will contribute to meaningful projects that help bridge the gap between scientific research and community application.

Over the course of 10-12 weeks, interns will engage in a variety of projects, including social media and promotional content creation, event planning and execution, on-farm research, and public outreach on horticulture and agricultural topics. Interns will gain valuable skills while working in diverse settings throughout -Minnesota. Preference will be given to applications received by March 15.

The program is designed for undergraduate students interested in agriculture, horticulture, livestock, natural resources, science communication, and community service. In addition to hands-on project work, interns will build professional networks with other interns, Extension educators, and specialists, gaining insight into career pathways in the field.

Internship locations and focus areas for summer 2025 include:

• Horticulture: Wright, McLeod, and Meeker Counties – Buffalo.

• General (Ag/hort/natural resources): Carver County – Cologne.

• Agriculture/Livestock: Wright, McLeod, and Meeker Counties – Hutchinson or Litchfield.

• Horticulture: Stearns, -Benton, Morrison, and Sherburne Counties – Waite Park.

• Agriculture/Livestock: Stearns, Benton, Morrison, and Sherburne Counties – Waite Park.
