Weather column: It is hard to believe that we are now into September as summer continues to wind down. I was talking with some friends and they were saying really it was a pretty decent summer. It was not too warm and not too cold. In addition, we didn’t have a lot of severe weather.
Parts of Minnesota did see some flooding at times as heavy rain fell across portions of the region. In talking to farmers, they seem to think that we had just the right amount of rain when we needed it along with adequate temperatures.
Temperatures will be near “normal” for this time of the year for the midweek into the weekend. Highs will generally reach the low- to mid-70s. We could see some scattered rain along the way through the weekend.
if you are a sky-watcher, Neptune is putting on its “best face” this week. The planet, which is the fourth-largest planet in the solar system, will be in view all night as it shines at its brightest for the year. You will still need a telescope to see it, however.
