Superintendent Update for the week of Feb. 27

·

Good Day Kimball Cubs and community members. It has been extremely exciting to say the least, as our winter activities are wrapping up and the students are working hard to qualify for the state tournament. This year has seen an increase in activity participation and winning at the state level to showcase how strong our programs are here in Kimball.

So far to date, the following activities have had a team or individuals qualify for state competition: Cross Country Girls, Volleyball, Swimming, Robotics, FFA, Wrestling, and Superior ratings in choir. It is amazing how well our students excel when given the opportunity to be involved in a group or activity they love. Their success rate is undeniable. Our students have also performed well in the classroom to achieve a tremendous number of them earning college credits. I applaud all of our students who go above and beyond the expectations. This is what makes Kimball such a great place. We don?Äôt settle for average and just getting by.

I have had conversations with our student-athletes who will be participating in track and field this spring. Their excitement is about to burst as they look forward to having home track meets as well as the best place to train outdoors in the state. Their hard work and dedication will pay off this spring. We are in the process of planning a grand opening for the new track before our first meet Monday, April 10.  More details will follow on this event.

Our girls?Äô basketball team will be opening up playoff competition this week on Thursday. Come cheer them on. The boys?Äô basketball team wraps up their season on Friday. The wrestlers will head down to state on Thursday to represent Kimball as they make their final push of the year. Good luck Zack, Adam, and Payton. Get out and watch the teams compete as the playoffs start. That is all I have for now. Have a great day. GO CUBS!
